Custom woodworking combines physical production with information that needs to stay coherent: the work, the records around it and the tools a shop uses to operate. Makers4 is an application platform aimed at woodworkers, cabinet makers and millwork manufacturers.

CTO to Human: let the domain shape the application

The public repository describes a specialized business-application foundation. The useful question is how a shop’s concepts can become consistent data and working interfaces without rebuilding the generic application machinery for every feature.

This project page describes that foundation. It does not claim a complete production workflow, customer outcomes or a finished set of shop-management modules that the available source does not substantiate.

Engineer to Engineer: metadata, migrations and native actions

Makers4 builds on QQQ metadata with a Java/Javalin backend, PostgreSQL and Liquibase-managed schema. The documented interface uses the QQQ React/Material dashboard. Metadata and native actions provide the CRUD and administrative surface; application-specific domain rules still need explicit implementation.

The repository also describes H2 test fixtures and application-template customization. Those are practical ingredients for developing the foundation, but passing a template build is a different question from qualifying an actual manufacturing workflow. The journal should make that distinction visible as the domain grows.

The Makers4 repository is the code reference. This software journal is separate from personal woodworking projects, which will have their own dated updates and real build photographs.
